The incident occurred around 9 p.m. as Phares was trying to move from the left shoulder of the highway, where his disabled vehicle was parked, to the right shoulder.
Tragically, Phares was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the accident.
The 52-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer, who hails from Milford, did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
