A Ford Escape, driven by Brown, crossed the median from the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Toyota Camry traveling northbound, driven by 25-year-old Jessica Emerson from Berwick, Maine.
Brown was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital via ambulance, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Emerson was also transported to the hospital and sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive.
The accident resulted in the closure of all northbound lanes of I-95 for approximately two hours to facilitate the investigation and clear debris from the road.
