UC Berkeley Suicide: Tragic Death of Unidentified Male Student, Police Investigation Underway, No Foul Play Suspected, Campus Community Urged to Seek Help for Mental Health Concerns, Counseling Services Available.

A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday night at the University of California, Berkeley, resulting in the death of a male student.

The UC Berkeley Police and EMS responded to a report of a jumper at Residence Hall Unit 3, where they found a young man who had jumped from the fourth level of the parking garage.

Despite attempts to administer life-saving measures, the student was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to law enforcement authorities, the death is not suspected to be the result of foul play.

The identity of the student has not been released, pending notification of the next of kin.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the campus community, with students being urged to seek help if they are experiencing despair or thoughts of suicide.

A police cordon was set up outside the parking lot as law enforcement agencies responded to the incident.

The victim was described as a young man who was found bleeding from his sense organs by arriving authorities.

Life-saving measures were administered, but unfortunately, he died on the spot.

The university is providing counseling services for students affected by the incident, with urgent drop-in appointments available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at UHS Mental Health Services, (510) 642-9494.
