The tragic accident on Northwest Loop 820 in Fort Worth early Sunday morning has left a community in mourning.
Chelsea Cook, 33, was one of the victims who lost her life when a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction collided with the pickup truck she was in.
According to her family and friends, Chelsea was a loyal friend and a vibrant presence, known for her “ride-or-die” personality.
Her text messages, full of positivity and love, reflected the warmth she radiated, and she was treasured by all who knew her.
Fort Worth Police reported that the crash, which occurred near Marine Creek Reservoir around 3:35 a.m., involved a Ford Focus driving east in the westbound lanes of Loop 820.
The collision was catastrophic, and by the time first responders arrived, the Ford Focus, carrying a family of four, was already on fire.
All four occupants of the Ford Focus tragically perished in the accident.
In the pickup truck was Evan Ranallo, Chelsea’s fiancé, who was taken to JPS Hospital with injuries.
He survived, but Chelsea, who was his passenger, did not.
The two had recently gotten engaged, celebrating their love in October, a joyful time that friends and family will now cherish even more deeply.
