Timothy R. Gillitzer Obituary, Death – Tragic Fall from Boom Truck in Janesville, Wisconsin
A devastating incident occurred on October 19 at the Rock County 4-H Fairgrounds in Janesville, Wisconsin, resulting in the tragic death of 59-year-old Timothy R. Gillitzer.
The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department confirmed that Gillitzer, a resident of Milton, died due to injuries sustained after falling from a boom truck during an employee appreciation event organized by Rock County Energy Cooperative.
The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. when a man and a woman fell approximately 10 feet while a boom was being extended on one of the trucks during a demonstration.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and is recovering, but unfortunately, Gillitzer did not survive and was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly after the incident.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office, the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the accident and whether any safety protocols were violated. Gillitzer’s death has left the community and his colleagues deeply saddened, and his family is seeking answers about how this tragic accident occurred.
