Eliza Yang, Mang Yang Obituary, Death – Tragic Car Crash Kills Two Sisters in California
A heartbreaking incident in California has left two sisters dead after a high-speed police pursuit ended with a car crashing into their bedroom. Eliza Yang, 18, and her older sister Mang Yang, 25, were inside their bedroom when the out-of-control vehicle plowed into their home, instantly killing both.
The tragedy occurred late Wednesday night, shattering the lives of the Yang family. One of the sisters had been asleep, while the other was preparing to leave for work. The devastation was overwhelming for the family.
The father of the victims, visibly distraught, clung to stuffed animals he retrieved from the wreckage, the last remnants of his daughters’ presence in the room that had been their sanctuary. In the immediate aftermath of the crash, the family searched desperately for their loved ones amid the debris.
The tragic accident resulted from a brief police chase that lasted less than 30 seconds, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies had been patrolling the area when they noticed what appeared to be a gang-related disturbance. Upon approaching the scene, 18-year-old Adam Canales, a known gang member, fled in a white Chevy Tahoe, igniting the deadly pursuit.
Canales, who was driving without a license and insurance, was also under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The pursuit ended just three streets away from where it began, with Canales crashing his SUV into the Yang family’s home.
The impact was devastating, taking the lives of Eliza and Mang, two young women with promising futures. Eliza had recently graduated from Fresno High School, while Mang was working to support the family while attending nursing school.
The entire Yang family, including six other children—three girls and three boys—were inside the house at the time of the crash. Although the rest of the family survived, their hearts are broken, and their home is no longer livable due to the extensive damage.
The family is now left grappling with unimaginable loss, as well as the financial burden of funeral costs and rebuilding their lives. Sheriff Zanoni placed the blame squarely on Canales, stating, “If he were to have pulled over, this could’ve been avoided. He is the one responsible for the two innocent girls who died.”
After crashing the car, Canales attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended and arrested. The community has rallied around the Yang family, offering condolences and support. Neighbors have stepped in to help with a vigil in memory of the sisters, and many have contributed to fundraising efforts to assist the family during this difficult time.
For the Yang family, the loss is immeasurable. “Our heart is broken. We just don’t know what to do right now,” said Ronald Yang, urging anyone who can to help the family with donations for the funeral and other expenses. The family now faces the daunting task of saying goodbye to two beloved daughters while trying to rebuild their shattered lives.
