Samuel Jessen, Alexander Mick Obituary, Death – Tragic Hayride Accidents Claim Lives of Two Young Boys

Two heartbreaking incidents occurred over the weekend at haunted hayride events in Tennessee and Minnesota, resulting in the tragic deaths of 12-year-old Samuel Jessen and 13-year-old Alexander Mick.

The first incident took place on Friday night at the Haunted Hilltop Halloween event near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Samuel Jessen, 12, was struck by a tractor and pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Jessen was hiding in bushes along the hayride route with others when the accident happened. Although authorities did not release his identity due to his age, local reports confirmed his name, citing the medical examiner’s office.

The Haunted Hilltop organizers stated that a young boy had passed away, and authorities believe Jessen may have fallen under the wheels of the tractor while trying to scare hayride participants. The organizers referred to the incident as a “tragic accident” and canceled their Saturday events in response.

In a similar incident the following night in Minnesota, Alexander Mick, 13, died after being run over by a wagon during the Harvest of Horror Haunted Hayride in St. Augusta. According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Mick was struck by a tractor-pulled wagon, and despite immediate assistance, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mick’s mother, Teri Mick, described her son as “an amazingly unique child” with a deep faith in Jesus. He was involved in numerous activities, including taekwondo, drumming, band, choir, robotics, soccer, and scouting, where he was close to earning his Eagle Scout rank. Following Mick’s death, the remaining nights of the 2024 Harvest of Horror event were canceled.

The tragic deaths of Samuel Jessen and Alexander Mick have sent shockwaves through their communities, and their families and friends are mourning their sudden passing. The incidents serve as a stark reminder of the importance of prioritizing safety during events and activities.

As authorities continue to investigate both incidents, the communities are coming together to support the families of the deceased. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office expressed their condolences to Jessen’s family and asked the community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.

The Haunted Hilltop organizers and the Harvest of Horror event organizers have both canceled events in response to the tragic accidents. The incidents will likely lead to a review of safety protocols at similar events to ensure that such tragedies do not occur in the future.

The tragic loss of Samuel Jessen and Alexander Mick will be deeply felt by their communities, and their memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew them. As the communities mourn their passing, they will also come together to support the families and ensure that their legacy lives on.

In conclusion, the tragic deaths of Samuel Jessen and Alexander Mick are devastating losses for their families and communities.
