John Arthur Oetman, a loving family man and dedicated Christian, tragically passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the age of 54, due to complications from severe injuries sustained in an accident. His sudden departure has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

John was a cherished brother in the faith and a devoted member of the Wayland Christian Reformed Church. He was a man of unwavering optimism, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His love for life, family, and religion was evident in everything he did.

John’s family was the center of his universe, and he took immense pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather. He was always on the go, whether it was for family events or church activities. Every Saturday, he would venture out woodcutting with friends to ensure he had a steady supply of wood for the winter.

His absence will be deeply felt by all those who knew him. John’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created with his loved ones. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wayland Christian Reformed Church, followed by a memorial service on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s honor to Wayland CRC or Hope Unexpected. His family would like to extend their gratitude to all those who have offered support and condolences during this difficult time.
