Ladon Jones Obituary: A Life of Service, Love, and Compassion
Ladon Jones, a beloved member of the Eldon, MO community and former owner of Donna’s Diner, is nearing the end of her courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
After years of fighting type 2 diabetes, Ladon was diagnosed with signet ring cancer in May 2023, and her health has continued to decline despite her resilience.
Ladon has been receiving hospice care for approximately three weeks, and her family has been informed that she may have only about one week left, according to her daughter, Janine Geer.
The family has finalized cremation and celebration of life arrangements, with a total cost of $5,000, and Janine has established a GoFundMe fundraiser, “Support Ladon Jones’ Final Journey,” to assist with funeral expenses.
Despite efforts to contact insurance companies, the family has been unable to secure financial assistance, and they are now seeking donations to reach their $5,000 goal, but no contributions have been received yet.
Through Donna’s Diner, Ladon was known for her unwavering commitment to the community and her welcoming nature, which she demonstrated for over two decades.
The diner, which she managed for 21 years, served as a gathering place for friends and neighbors, where her hard work and passion were evident in each dish she prepared.
Ladon’s legacy of love, compassion, and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and the community is invited to support her family during this difficult time by contributing to the fundraiser or offering their prayers.
We offer our deepest condolences to the Jones family during this challenging period, and we pray for solace and peace as they spend their final moments with Ladon.
May Ladon’s memory continue to inspire others to live a life of service, love, and compassion.
