Amari Justin Young Obituary, Death: Officer-Involved Shooting in Auburn Under Investigation
Amari Justin Young, a 21-year-old man from Opelika, has been identified as the victim in an officer-involved shooting in Auburn. The incident occurred late Monday night and resulted in Young’s death.
The shooting took place at The Magnolia at Auburn, an apartment complex, around 10:00 PM on September 2nd. A resident reported hearing a loud knocking followed by the arrival of police at the building.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is investigating the incident. The SBI confirmed early Tuesday that the shooting involved an officer from the Auburn Police Department.
