Kayden Acuff, Jamicha Lovings-Smith Obituary, Death – Tragic Single-Vehicle Accident Claims Lives of Two Young Individuals

Two individuals, including a resident of Vicksburg, were tragically killed in a single-vehicle accident that occurred in Louisiana.

The Louisiana State Troopers reported that the fatal crash happened on U.S. Highway 80, east of LA Highway 601-2, shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 1.

The victims have been identified as 20-year-old Kayden Acuff from Tallulah, Louisiana, and 21-year-old Jamicha Lovings-Smith from Vicksburg, Mississippi.

According to the troopers, Acuff was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima westbound on U.S. Highway 80 when he lost control of the vehicle.

The car veered off the right side of the road, and Acuff attempted to correct his course by steering left.

However, this maneuver led to an overcorrection, causing the vehicle to cross both the westbound and eastbound lanes before crashing into a tree.

Both Acuff and Lovings-Smith were not wearing seatbelts and were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The authorities suspect that impairment may have played a role in the crash, and they have collected toxicology samples for further analysis.

The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing as officials work to determine the precise factors contributing to this tragic incident.

The community is mourning the loss of these two young lives, and support is being offered to the families and friends of the victims during this difficult time.
