On the morning of August 17, a devastating multi-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 5 near mile marker 38 in Jackson County, Oregon, resulting in the tragic loss of 73-year-old Susan Dale O’Connell of Talent.
According to the Oregon State Police, the incident took place around 10 a.m. as O’Connell was driving her white Toyota Corolla northbound on the highway. O’Connell, while traveling on the freeway, made a sudden left turn into the path of a northbound white Ford F350.
The driver of the Ford, identified as 49-year-old Jeffrey Scott Trouslot from Klamath Falls, was unable to avoid a collision and crashed into the driver’s side door of the Toyota Corolla. The impact of the crash was severe, causing the front passenger tire of the Ford to detach.
As a result, Trouslot’s vehicle rolled northward on the highway, ultimately colliding with the driver’s side of a white Chevrolet Silverado. The Silverado was being driven by 44-year-old Sergio Cervantes Valencia from Turlock, California.
The collision was fatal for O’Connell, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Thankfully, no further injuries were reported from the other drivers involved in the crash.
