Stuart Craig Shields obituary, death, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on August 14, 2024, due to complications from a seizure disorder. He was 34 years old.

Stuart was born on May 10, 1990, in Danville, VA, to Teresa Moore Shields and Frank M. Shields. He is survived by his loving family, including his sister Chelsea Burns, her husband Robert, and their children Francesca and Sebastian.

Stuart was a remarkable individual who achieved significant milestones throughout his life. He earned his Eagle Scout rank in 2005 and attended the National Scout Jamboree the same year. He was a standout student and graduated as an Honor Graduate from George Washington High School in 2008.

Stuart continued his academic excellence at William and Mary, completing his bachelor’s degree in just two years. He later earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Wingate University in 2016. His professional career included roles as a pharmacist at several reputable companies.

Stuart was a fun-loving and adventurous spirit who embraced life to the fullest. He traveled to diverse destinations and had a passion for disc golf, water sports, card games, hiking, and exploring exotic cuisines.

Stuart’s kindness and thoughtfulness enabled him to form deep connections with others. He was a treasured confidant and had a lifelong friend in Scott Aiken. His family was deeply important to him, and he cherished his role as a playful uncle to Francesca and Sebastian.

Stuart’s life was guided by a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to enriching the lives of those around him. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was a lifelong member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Stuart’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His infectious smile, witty humor, and loving nature will be deeply missed. The family invites friends to a visitation on Monday, August 19th, and a Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, August 20th.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Building Fund at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Stuart’s memory. Stuart Craig Shields will be remembered with love and admiration, and his legacy of kindness and adventure will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
