James Dennis “Jim” Ferreira obituary, death, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2024, at the age of 61, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Simsbury.
Jim was born to James and Theresa (Correira) Ferreira, who precede him in death. He attended local schools and graduated from Somers High School in 1981.
Jim’s career spanned many years, with his most notable achievement being his 16-year tenure as a CNC programmer at Aerogear Aerospace. He also worked as a machinist and enjoyed hiking, visiting breweries, and mountain biking in his free time.
Jim’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, particularly his children and grandson, Olliver. He was a devoted father who loved his boys more than life itself and cherished every moment spent with them.
Jim’s sharp sense of humor and wit made everyone around him laugh heartily, and his enduring recollections will be of love and happiness. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and coworkers.
Jim is survived by his sisters, Theresa Pilch of Greenville, North Carolina, Peggy Jaronko of Southington, and Cathy Gotta of Somers. He is also survived by his children, Sarah N. Bennett of Beverley, MA, Dylan James Ferreira and his wife Enya of Granby, and Joshua William Ferreira of Granby, as well as his grandson, Oliver Ferreira.
Jim’s family will receive friends at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM. A celebration of Jim’s life will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Carmon’s, commencing at 11:00 AM.
