Richard Allen Sneed, a beloved member of the Baytown, Texas community, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in Houston. He was 62 years old. Born on June 20, 1962, in Baytown, Richard was the son of Fred and Georgia Wood Sneed.
Richard spent his entire life in Baytown, where he became a well-known and respected member of the community. He was a proud graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and furthered his education at Lee College. He dedicated his professional life to Covestro, where he served as a Master Tag Coordinator.
Beyond his career, Richard was a devoted member of Rollingbrook Fellowship, where he found spiritual fulfillment and camaraderie. He was a passionate sports enthusiast, enjoying playing pool, working in his yard, and cheering on his favorite teams, the Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys.
Richard’s love for sports was matched only by his love for his family and community. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, always putting the needs of others before his own. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Georgia Sneed, and his grandson, Kane Nugent. He leaves behind a loving family, including his wife of 36 years, Kaye Forrester Sneed, his children Marcus Jackson and wife Pamela, Shane Barefoot and wife Brittney, and Brooke Roberson.
He is also survived by his siblings Alvin Sneed and wife Paula, Johnny Sneed, Tommy Sneed and wife Kitty, and Aimee Lavalley and husband Tom. Richard was a proud grandfather to Lane Barefoot, Connor Jackson, Colton Casper, Kennedy Roberson, Drew Roberson, and Audrey Roberson.
He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rollingbrook Fellowship.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at Rollingbrook Fellowship, followed by interment at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery. Richard’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
