Scott Scheynost, 64, Devoted Husband, Father, and Attorney, Passes Away in Louisville, KY; Leaves Behind Legacy of Love, Sports, and Community.

Scott Scheynost, a lifelong resident of Louisville, KY, passed away on July 12, 2024, at the age of 64. Born and raised in Louisville, Scott was a beloved member of his community, a dedicated attorney, and a passionate sports enthusiast.

As a child, Scott played football at Jesse Stuart High School, developing a lifelong love for sports. He went on to graduate from Eastern Kentucky University in 1983 and the University of Louisville with a law degree in 1988. Scott was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity and ran his own law practice since 1996.

Scott’s love for sports extended beyond his playing days. He coached his daughter Allison’s soccer teams to numerous victories and spent countless hours on the golf course with his son Grant. His family was his greatest joy, and he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dorothy, their two children, Allison and Grant, his sister Sandy Milum, and his parents Rudy and Linda Scheynost.

Scott’s passing has left a profound impact on the lives of those who knew him. His love for his family, sports, and community will be deeply missed. He was a devoted husband, father, and attorney, and his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.

Scott’s love for cruises, reading the news, watching war films, and surreptitiously feeding family pets human delicacies were just a few of the many joys he had in life. His family and friends will remember him as a kind, generous, and compassionate person who always put others before himself.

The funeral service will be held at Highland Funeral Home, near Bowman Field, on Friday, July 19, with visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and the funeral service starting at 6:30 p.m.

Scott’s family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and mourn his passing. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, and his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him.
