Robert Sanz, formerly of this area but residing in Houston, Texas, passed away at the WVU Hospital in Uniontown, PA, while vacationing with his wife, Irene, at the Summit Inn Hotel. The cause of death was due to a medical event, as ruled by the medical staff and Chief Deputy Coroner John Kondrla, who responded to the call.
Mr. Sanz was a retired Navy SEAL who devoted his life to protecting our country. He served with honor and distinction, earning numerous accolades and decorations for his bravery and selflessness. After his retirement, he continued to serve by training future Navy SEALs and teaching swimming to anyone he met. His dedication to service and his community will be remembered and cherished.
