George Liddle, affectionately known as “Roker,” passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024, at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family. George was the beloved husband of the late Pauline (Polly), a loving father to Jayne, Anthony, and Graeme, a cherished father-in-law to Sonia, Jason, and Sonia, a devoted grandad to Rachel, James, and Kate, and a dearly loved brother of the late Margaret.
George’s passing is a tremendous loss to his family, friends, and the community. He was a friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to inspire us all, and his memory will be cherished by those whose lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating George’s life at Sunderland Crematorium on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 10:30 am. This service will be a time to reflect on George’s life, share memories, and bid farewell to a wonderful man who touched the hearts of so many.
In keeping with George’s wishes, the family kindly requests no flowers. Instead, donations in lieu of flowers can be made via a collection at the Crematorium. All proceeds will be gratefully accepted by St. Benedict’s Hospice in honor of George’s memory.
