Joshua Bertram and Jessie Robbins, two precious lives, were tragically lost in a devastating collision on Highway 111 in Overton County on Friday, June 28. The fatal incident occurred at mile marker 18.5, leaving the community in shock and grief.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), a 2006 Chevrolet Express 2500, driven by Joshua Bertram, 43, from Kentucky, was traveling north on Highway 111 when it veered across the center line into the southbound lane. A 1994 Ford Ranger, driven by Jessie Robbins, 73, was traveling southbound and attempted to avoid the collision by swerving but was ultimately hit by the Chevrolet on the roadside.

The Chevrolet continued southbound and collided with a tree, resulting in the tragic loss of Joshua Bertram’s life. His passenger, also from Kentucky, sustained injuries and was wearing a seatbelt during the crash, unlike Bertram. The passenger’s current condition remains undisclosed.

The Ford Ranger also veered off the road and hit a tree post-collision, resulting in the tragic loss of Jessie Robbins’ life, despite wearing a seatbelt. The THP is investigating the incident, and no further information has been provided.
