Andrew Widmer, Emilio Chavez Obituary
Two individuals lost their lives following a fatal collision that occurred late Sunday night in Sandusky County.
The tragic event took place shortly before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Stevenson and North Patterson Street in Gibsonburg.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol officials, the driver of a Jeep Wrangler, identified as Andrew Widmer from Gibsonburg, veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
Both Widmer and his passenger, Emilio Chavez, were thrown from the vehicle during the accident. Chavez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was also fatally injured, as stated in a press release from OSHP.
Sgt. Bolduan from the OSHP reported, “The driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, collided with a tree, and both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
Unfortunately, both individuals lost their lives.” The families of the deceased victims were informed of the tragic incident by law enforcement authorities.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently being investigated.
