Jason Ball, a 50-year-old resident of Barre, was declared deceased at the scene following a tragic head-on collision involving two vehicles on Interstate 89 southbound near Exit 8 on June 26. Ball’s 2015 Chevrolet Malibu veered across the median from the northbound lane and crashed into a 2016 Honda CR-V driven by 46-year-old Kelly Pelletier from Plainfield.
The collision resulted in Ball’s vehicle being completely destroyed, and he was found not to be wearing a seatbelt. Pelletier, who had her seatbelt on, sustained serious yet non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Central Vermont Medical Center for medical care. Her vehicle was also totaled in the collision.
