Sergi Kolesnick Obituary, Death;
One individual lost their life in a single-vehicle collision in Naples on Thursday. The incident took place prior to 10:41 a.m. at 752 Harrison Road/Route 35.
The driver of the 2024 Tesla, Sergi Kolesnick, 33, from Harrison, was declared deceased at the location, as stated by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s office.
As per the statement, the crash involved a high-speed collision with a tree, resulting in the Tesla catching fire. The aftermath of the crash led to a significant debris field of batteries and multiple spot fires.
Emergency responders worked diligently for hours to contain the situation and prevent the fires from spreading to nearby properties and the surrounding woods.
The clean-up process at the crash site was still ongoing by 3 p.m. on Thursday. The road closure extended from the southern end of Lewis Road in Naples to the northern end of Lewis Road in Harrison.
Naples Fire/EMS, along with Casco, Sebago, and Bridgton fire departments, as well as the Department of Environmental Protection, all responded to the scene.
