Erick Monterroso Mcclaughlin Obituary – A series of shootings in Lancaster within a span of 24 hours have resulted in the deaths of four individuals, with six others sustaining injuries.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide investigators are currently investigating to determine any potential connections between these incidents.
The most recent shooting took place on Wednesday, just before 6 p.m., where seven individuals were shot in what was described as a gang-related incident by the Sheriff’s Department. Two of the wounded men were found at the scene on the 800 block of E. Avenue J-12, and despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, they were later pronounced dead.
Shortly after, five more gunshot victims arrived at another local hospital together, all in stable condition and present at the same location as the initial two men during the shooting.
The night before, deputies responded to multiple shootings throughout the city. The first incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near J8 and 30th Street West, where a man was shot and taken to a local hospital. An hour later, another man was shot a few blocks away on the 45600 block of Sierra Highway and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Approximately 45 minutes later, at around 9:20 p.m., deputies were called to a third shooting on the 400 block of E. Avenue L, where the victim also died from his injuries after being transported to a local hospital. The Sheriff’s Department has not confirmed any connections between these shootings.
Earlier on June 7, a man was shot on the 44000 block of Gingham Avenue around 2:30 a.m., and he was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital. The man was identified as Erick Monterroso Mcclaughlin, 19, from Lancaster, by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
