Dillon Smith Missing: Family and Police Launch Urgent Appeal to Find 18-Year-Old Last Seen in Chadderton, Oldham

Dillon Smith, an 18-year-old from Chadderton, Oldham, has been missing since June 18, 2024, sparking a desperate search by his family and the police. Dillon’s mother, Donna, dropped him off at the Asda store, but he never arrived at his nearby job and has not been heard from since.

Dillon is believed to have taken multiple trains, and a note found by his family suggests he was experiencing severe depression. His internet banking and social media accounts have been inactive since his disappearance, raising concerns about his well-being. Despite his abduction, the police have classified him as ‘low-risk’ due to his age.

Donna is frantic with worry, stating that Dillon’s disappearance is out of character, and he normally stays at home and sees his family daily. He had planned a vacation to Zante with friends on July 2, but his family fears he may not have the resources to support himself.

The Metropolitan Police Department has launched an appeal to find Dillon, releasing two photos of him, including one showing his last known clothing. Dillon is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build and short ‘dirty blonde hair.’ He was last seen wearing a dark grey North Face zip-up hooded jacket, black slim-fitting tracksuit bottoms, black and grey Nike trainers with white soles, a beige baseball cap, and carrying a black Puma rucksack and a novelty ‘The Simpsons’ blanket.

The family is urging anyone with information to come forward, and the police are asking individuals to report any sightings or knowledge of Dillon’s whereabouts by calling 101 and quoting reference 01/491880/24. Donna has taken to social media to spread the word, as the police’s response has been limited due to Dillon’s age.

As the search continues, Dillon’s family and friends are growing increasingly concerned for his safety. His father has even traveled to London to search for him around Euston Station but has returned home empty-handed.

The community is rallying around the family, sharing their concerns and offering support. Donna’s desperation to find her son is palpable, and she is pleading for anyone with information to come forward.

Dillon Smith’s disappearance is a cause for grave concern, and his family and the police are working tirelessly to locate him. Any information, no matter how small, could be crucial in bringing Dillon home safely.
