Reginald Purnell Obituary, Second victim named from deadly Columbus home shooting

The second individual who was fatally shot in south Columbus has been identified by the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.

Reginald Purnell, a 48-year-old man, succumbed to gunshot wounds on Tuesday morning. Previously, the first victim was named as Darrell Walker, aged 45.

Both Walker and Purnell were discovered inside a residence on Seymour Avenue, near Deshler Park, at approximately 10 a.m. The coroner’s office confirmed their deaths shortly after medics arrived at the scene.

The incident was initially reported by a woman who visited the house to check on one of the two men. Upon finding one of them with gunshot wounds, she promptly contacted the police.

Subsequently, investigators discovered that the home had a broken back window. As of Wednesday, Columbus police have not disclosed any information regarding a potential suspect in the shooting.
