Authorities have reported that the shooter responsible for the deaths of three women in Manatee County on Monday night is now deceased.
The incident began at the Motel 6 on 67th Street Circle E. in Bradenton, where a 48-year-old woman was found dead from a gunshot wound.
Witnesses informed investigators that Javontee Brice, 28, had shot his mother for unknown reasons before leaving the area, potentially heading to Georgia.
Later, at around 9:40 p.m., another shooting occurred on 26th Street Court E. in Palmetto, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old woman who was sitting inside a parked SUV. Witnesses identified Brice as the shooter in this case as well.
A third shooting took place on 55th Street W. in Bradenton just after 10 p.m., where Brice shot a woman who later died at a local hospital.
It was discovered that Brice was traveling to Georgia with the intention of killing another person. After a statewide alert was issued for Brice’s vehicle, law enforcement agencies tracked him to Hamilton County, near the state line.
Brice was ultimately shot and killed by Hamilton County deputies after firing shots at them. The investigations into these shootings are still ongoing.
