Zach Beck, a vibrant and compassionate student at Ogemaw Heights High School from West Branch, Michigan, tragically passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the tender age of 16. Born on December 4, 2007, to Mark Beck and Kendra (Whisman) Beck, Zach’s life was marked by his kind-hearted nature, unwavering dedication to his family, and a passion for serving his community.

Zach’s ambition to become a volunteer firefighter reflected his selfless personality and desire to make a meaningful impact in his society. Additionally, he was committed to carrying on his family’s farming legacy at Gallagher Dairy Farm, where he demonstrated extraordinary zeal and dedication in his farm chores.

At Ogemaw Heights High School, Zach excelled in shop class and was beloved by his peers and teachers alike. His passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew him, and his community is mourning the loss of a bright and promising young life.

Zach Beck’s obituary is a testament to his remarkable life, which was marked by his love for his family, his community, and his passion for serving others. He will be deeply missed by his parents, Mark and Kendra Beck; sister Alexandrea (Trenton) Moore; brother Cole (Sydney Lademan) Beck; grandmother Roberta Beck; grandparents Larry and Marsha Whisman; nieces and nephews Ellianne, Scotti, and Reid; uncles and aunts, Kevin (Jaimie) Whisman, Kimberly Kummler, Kara (Joseph) Neuman, Kristy Whisman, Karla (James) Mattson, Chad (Lori) Beck, Grace (Loren) Caverly, Laurie (Jennifer Strochine) Beck, and Katie (Joe) Weber, as well as cousins, other family members, OHHS staff, and neighbors who were like family to Zachary.

Zach’s visitation will be held at the Ogemaw County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., followed by his funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Steve Decker will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in Zach Beck’s memory may be made to the West Branch Volunteer Fire Department or Gallagher Dairy Farm.

The community will come together to support the Beck family during this difficult time, and Zach’s memory will be cherished and honored. His legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched and the unforgettable memories he created.
