Hector Aranda Obituary,
Hector Aranda, aged 22, was identified as the individual who lost his life on the morning of Friday, June 14th, as a result of being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Acton.
This information was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
According to Officer Josh Greengard, a spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office, the incident took place at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Friday, June 14th.
CHP officers received reports regarding a three-vehicle collision on the 14 Freeway, south of Red Rover Mine in Acton.
During the incident, a tow truck was assisting a disabled Honda Pilot SUV on the right shoulder.
Both the tow truck driver and the Honda driver were outside the vehicle when a Nissan Altima crashed into the rear of the Honda. The impact of the collision caused the Honda Pilot to strike the pedestrians involved.
Following the collision, the driver of the Altima fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. As of Saturday, no charges have been announced.
