The tragic discovery was made by an employee at a Weld County gravel quarry, who called 911 on Wednesday night after noticing signs that a vehicle had gone into a body of water near the quarry. The quarry is located in the area of Highway 85 and Weld County Road 22.
Members of the Greeley Police Department, Fort Lupton Police Department, and dive teams from both cities’ fire departments responded to the scene. Dive team members recovered Vicente’s body from the submerged vehicle. She was the only person in the vehicle.
