Jeffrey Douglas Emblidge Obituary: Rochester Mourns the Loss of a Shining Star, Doug Emblidge’s Son, at the Age of 33, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Love, Laughter, and Adventure

Jeffrey Douglas Emblidge, a bright and cheerful soul, passed away on June 17th in Asheville, North Carolina, at the young age of 33.

He was the beloved son of Doug and Coleen Emblidge of Canandaigua, and his passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of his family, friends, and all those who knew him.

Jeffrey’s family was the center of his universe, and he is survived by his loving parents, Doug and Coleen; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Erin and Josh Monster, and Molly and Danny Pluta; and his maternal grandmother, Joan Kenrick. His nieces and nephews, Nolan and Levi Monster, and Adeline and George Pluta, were the apples of his eye, and he had a special bond with them that will be deeply cherished.

Jeffrey’s love and kindness extended far and wide, and he is also survived by a large and loving extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were like family to him. His aunts and uncles, Nizar and Marsha Mamdani, Dave and Debbie Hunt, Laurie Hunt and Laurence Sugarman, Mark and Beth Emblidge, Tom Kenrick, Peggy and Peter Carey, John and Mary Kay Kenrick, and Tim and Laura Kenrick, were all an important part of his life. His cousins, Amira and Jamil Mamdani, Brian Hunt (Kara Yudikaitis), Lisa (Tyler) Ohle, Emily (Frank) Puccia, Zachary (Allison) Auburn, Emily (Jason) Benza, Sydney Emblidge, Kayla (Danny) Kaplan, Megan (Brian) Sciera, Drew (Ashley) Kenrick, Lindsay Kenrick, Connor (Marissa) Kenrick, Ryan Kenrick, Tatum (Ryan) Kunz, and Madison Kenrick, will all miss him dearly.

Jeffrey was a friend to many, and his passing is mourned by a large and diverse group of friends who loved him for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and his adventurous spirit. Mike, Matt, Kaila, Danny, Alex, Carson, Chris, Shane, and many others will miss him dearly, and his four-legged companion, Wilson, will miss the bird squawk sound that Jeffrey would make just to announce his arrival.

Jeffrey was a man of many passions and interests. He graduated from Pittsford Sutherland High School in 2009 and with Cum Laude honors from the University at Buffalo in 2013. He was employed by Paychex and was a huge fan of the Bills and Sabres. He loved golf, live music, and the band Phish. His smile and sense of humor were infectious, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jeffrey’s family and friends will hold him in their memories forever, and they will cherish the time they had with him. They will remember his bird squawk sound, his claim that children loved him because of his perfectly symmetrical face (which he claimed was confirmed by a scientific study), and his love for life. Jeffrey knew he was loved, and he will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeffrey’s memory may be made to Divided Sky Foundation, Legacy Outdoor Adventures, or Next Step Recovery. Calling hours will be held from 3-7 PM on Wednesday, June 26, at Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt location). A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 27, at 11 AM at Church of The Transfiguration, 50 West Bloomfield Road in Pittsford.

Rest in peace, Jeffrey Douglas Emblidge. Your memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.
