Robert J. Mihalik Obituary – The identity of a deceased passenger involved in a collision in Amherst County on Saturday has been disclosed by the Virginia State Police.
Robert J. Mihalik, a 62-year-old resident of Monroe, succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a hospital.
According to authorities, the incident took place on June 15, 2024, at 7:44 p.m. at the intersection of Elon Road and Mt. Tabor Drive.
Law enforcement reports indicate that a Lincoln Navigator traveling west on Elon Road was unable to avoid colliding with a Dodge Challenger entering the intersection from Mt. Tabor Dr. Both vehicles overturned and landed in a ditch off Elon Road.
The Challenger was being driven by Mihalik, while a passenger sustained severe injuries and was subsequently taken to a hospital.
Fortunately, the driver of the Navigator emerged unharmed from the accident.
