Synthia Ring Obituary, East Wenatchee murder suspect arrested in Ohio after alleged killing at apartment complex

Synthia Ring Obituary,  – In a swift and coordinated operation, detectives from the East Wenatchee Police Department (EWPD) successfully captured a suspect linked to the murder of Synthia Ring, whose lifeless body was discovered in her apartment on Eastmont Avenue’s 500 block on June 11.

The individual in question, identified as 22-year-old Ashton Bunting Jr. from East Wenatchee, emerged as a key figure in the investigation shortly after Ring’s body was found. Authorities efficiently tracked Bunting Jr.’s movements and discovered that he had already left the state before the crime was reported.

Subsequently, it was revealed that Bunting Jr. had been involved in a car accident in South Dakota about three hours before the EWPD’s initial response to the crime scene.

Further surveillance unveiled that on June 12, 2024, Bunting Jr. was captured on camera entering a bicycle shop in Marshall, Minnesota. Armed with this information, EWPD detectives, in conjunction with the Douglas County Prosecutor’s Office, obtained a nationwide extradition arrest warrant for Ashton Bunting Jr. on June 13, charging him with Murder in the 2nd Degree.

The significant development occurred today around 9:30 AM when an Ohio State Trooper conducted a routine traffic stop near Toledo, Ohio, for a vehicle exceeding the speed limit.

The driver, identified as Ashton Bunting Jr., was promptly arrested without any issues on the outstanding nationwide arrest warrant.

The Chief of Police at EWPD expressed appreciation for the seamless collaboration between state and local law enforcement agencies spanning multiple states, which led to the swift capture of the suspect. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with additional information to contact River Com at 509-663-9911.

Ashton Bunting Jr. is now awaiting extradition to Washington, where he will face formal charges and legal procedures. The community remains watchful and supportive as justice is sought for Synthia Ring throughout the legal process.
