Kendra S. Thomas, a vibrant and kind-hearted 16-year-old from Tonica, has tragically passed away in a car accident on June 17, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. Her sudden death has sent shockwaves throughout the community, with friends and family devastated by her loss.
Kendra Thomas was born on April 9, 2008, in Ottawa, and was known for her upbeat personality, love of life, and infectious grin. She was an avid cheerleader and enjoyed playing softball and volleyball. Her passion for animals and free-spirited personality made her a beloved wildflower among her family and friends.
Kendra is survived by her parents, Sally (Patrick Falhaven) Thomas of Tonica and Patrick (Lauren) Thomas of Lostant, as well as six siblings: Kenzie Meuser, Kaylie Thomas, Axel Thomas, Toli Thomas, Ace Thomas, and Lia Thomas. She is also survived by her aunts Marlo (Jim) Payne and Jamie (Tim) Lock, as well as her uncle Gary (Tracie) Thomas.
Kendra was adored by her closest friends, Kristy and Don Vargo, as well as countless cousins. Her paternal great-grandparents, Harold (Lillian) Sibley and Red (Shirley) Thomas, as well as her paternal grandfather, Leslie Patrick Thomas, preceded her in death.
Kendra’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her, eternally remembered for the kindness, enthusiasm, and joy she offered to those around her. A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Sunday at 6:00 PM at the Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica, officiated by Rev. Duane Kaufman. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m.
