Jose Luis Diaz Cruz Obituary – The motorcyclist who lost his life in a crash in Thousand Oaks late Friday night has been identified by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office as 21-year-old Jose Luis Diaz Cruz of Oxnard.
The incident occurred shortly after 11 PM at the intersection of Westlake Boulevard and Hillcrest Drive.
According to deputies, Cruz was traveling southbound on Westlake Boulevard when he collided with a sedan on Hillcrest Drive. Cruz was thrown from his motorcycle.
Despite life-saving efforts by first responders at the scene, he was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. The driver of the sedan sustained minor injuries, was treated, and later released from the hospital.
Traffic investigators are still working to determine the circumstances leading up to the collision.
