Enrique Godinez Obituary, Body found in Needville ditch identified as 61-year-old man

Enrique Godinez Obituary,  – The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the death of a man whose body was discovered by construction workers in a ditch in Needville last week.

The deceased individual has been identified as Enrique Godinez, a 61-year-old man, by FBCSO investigators on Monday.

The investigation was initiated after Godinez’s family filed a missing persons report with the Rosenberg Police Department on May 28, as he had been missing since May 19. Sheriff Eric Fagan expressed his condolences to the Godinez family and assured them that the authorities are diligently working to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The incident took place on June 11 at approximately 1:13 p.m. in the 6900 block of FM 361 near Pine Meadow Lane in Needville. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies observed debris from a car and a broken bicycle nearby.

The body of the deceased man has been transported to the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Additionally, investigators revealed that a Lamar CISD police officer had reported an accident in the same area on May 24. Subsequently, an FBCSO deputy arrived at the scene and had a conversation with the driver of the stalled vehicle. According to deputies, the driver of the stalled vehicle is considered a person of interest in Godinez’s case.
