Charles Henry Obituary: Bainbridge resident killed in train accident identified.

On Saturday, a tragic incident occurred in Bainbridge as a train struck and killed a resident. The victim, Charles Henry, was identified as a deaf-mute individual.

According to Chief Redell Walton of Bainbridge Public Safety, Henry was crossing the railroad tracks at the intersection of Albany Road and Back Street, disregarding the lowered crossing arms.

It was reported that a bystander tried to get Henry’s attention but was unsuccessful. The collision between Henry and the train was captured on camera footage, as confirmed by Captain Charles Strickland of Bainbridge Public Safety.

Henry was immediately airlifted to Tallahassee but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The rail company involved, CSX, is currently conducting an investigation into the incident with the assistance of BPS.
