Cesar Garcia-Pelico Obituary – The body of a man recovered from Lake MacBride in Johnson County has been positively identified.
On the afternoon of Thursday, June 13, at approximately 3:05 p.m., the Joint Emergency Communications Center received a report of an individual who had entered the water but failed to resurface near the spillway into the Coralville Reservoir at Lake MacBride.
Following the report, multiple agencies swiftly responded to the scene and initiated a search operation in the water. At 4:19 p.m., the body of an adult male was successfully retrieved and has been confirmed to be that of 34-year-old Cesar Garcia-Pelico from Cedar Rapids.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently being investigated.
