Ahniya Coverdale Obituary,
Ahniya Coverdale, a 17-year-old resident of Harrington, Delaware, has been identified by the Delaware State Police as the victim of a shooting incident that took place on June 9.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 9, at approximately 4:30 p.m. in Ellendale, Delaware, along the 12000 block of North Old State Road.
According to investigators, a fight broke out near a community center, and an unidentified suspect pulled out a gun and fired shots into the crowd. Both Coverdale and a 19-year-old man were shot during the incident.
Coverdale was transported to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The 19-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was also taken to the hospital, where he received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The police are currently conducting an investigation and have not released any description of the suspects involved.
