Philip Joseph Kitten Obituary

Philip Joseph Kitten has been identified by the Texas Department of Public Safety as the man who tragically lost his life in a crop-duster airplane crash in Cochran County.

The injured individual has been identified as Jeremy Deshawn Williams. Emergency services were initially alerted to the crash site near County Road 235 and Highway 114 at approximately 8:38 a.m. on Friday.

The Cochran County Sheriff’s Office had previously reported that two air tractors, engaged in spraying activities in a cotton field, collided mid-air.

The National Transportation Safety Board confirmed that a fire broke out following the collision. According to the DPS, Kitten was pronounced deceased at the scene, while Williams sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

On Monday, the NTSB announced that an investigator is expected to conclude the documentation of the crash site and the examination of the aircraft involved.

Individuals who witnessed the accident, possess surveillance footage, or have any other pertinent information are urged to contact the NTSB at witness@ntsb.gov.
