George Griffin III Obituary: Lake County Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Accident Victim

George Griffin III Obituary

George Griffin III, a 32-year-old resident of Gary, was tragically identified by his family as the victim of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. The incident occurred at the intersection of 4th Ave.

and Grant St. in Gary on Thursday morning at approximately 6:34 a.m. Griffin was swiftly transported to Northlake Methodist Hospital, where, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at 7:59 a.m. by the attending emergency room physician.

Following the incident, a thorough forensic autopsy was conducted at the Lake County Forensic Center in Crown Point on Friday.

The autopsy findings confirmed that Griffin had suffered multiple blunt force traumatic injuries, categorizing the incident as a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian, as stated in the autopsy report.

The Gary Police Department and Gary Fire Department are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.

At this time, authorities have not disclosed any information regarding the driver involved in the collision or the events leading up to the accident.
