Ara Duke Obituary: Round Rock police identify victims of Juneteenth festival shooting

The Round Rock Police Department has identified the victims of the shooting at the Juneteenth celebration in the city. Lyndsey Vicknair, 33, from Manor, and Ara Duke, 54, from Pflugerville, tragically lost their lives in the incident.

It is important to note that neither of the victims were involved in the altercation that sparked the shooting.

The incident took place at Old Settlers Park during the annual festival, after a fight erupted between two groups.

Alongside the two fatalities, 14 individuals sustained injuries from the gunfire. Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks expressed his condolences to the affected families and emphasized the commitment to ensuring the safety of the community.

The police are actively investigating the case, interviewing witnesses, analyzing evidence, and following leads. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s).

Additionally, the police are urging anyone with photos or videos of the incident to upload them to a dedicated online portal. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
