Eldon K. Moen, a renowned music teacher and devoted member of the Melbourne community, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, music, and cherished memories. His remarkable life journey came to a close, but his impact on the lives of countless individuals will continue to resonate.
Eldon’s love for music and education led him to a distinguished career, spanning over two decades at Brevard Community College. He inspired generations of students as a music and humanities instructor, retiring in 1988. His passion for choral music led him to found the Brevard Community Chorus in 1969, which still thrives today.
As a Minister of Music, Eldon served at various South Brevard churches, including First Baptist Church of Melbourne, First Baptist Church of Eau Gallie, Eastminster Presbyterian Church, and Satellite Beach United Methodist Church, where he spent over 20 years. His dedication to music and faith inspired countless individuals.
Eldon’s love for his family was unwavering. He is survived by his wife, Iris; sons Eric and Alex; daughters Krista and Tina; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. His family was his joy, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.
A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church of Melbourne on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 11:00 am, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eastern Florida State College Foundation, designated for the Brevard Community Chorus.
