A car meetup in Prince George’s County turned tragic on Thursday night, as two men lost their lives in a fatal shooting incident.
The incident took place at around 11:45 p.m. in a shopping center parking lot located in the 7000 block of Berry Road. Upon arrival, the police discovered two men who had sustained gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as Sheldon Proctor, 48, from Waldorf, and Patrick Savoy, 55, from Charlotte Hall.
Another individual who was injured in the shooting left the meetup and drove himself to a hospital for medical attention. According to a report from NBC Washington, there were hundreds of people present at the meetup when the shooting occurred.
The authorities are currently investigating the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident, and no suspects have been identified thus far.
