The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office has officially identified the victim of a multiple-vehicle collision in Lancaster as Marisa Franco.
The incident was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 10:24 p.m. on Sunday on East Avenue J, just east of 255th Street East, according to Officer Erik Larsen of City News Service.
The individual who contacted the CHP informed dispatchers that Franco was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved.
Among the vehicles involved was a black Toyota sedan, while another vehicle may have fled the scene. A third vehicle was discovered approximately 300 feet from the road, with a broken rear window and the ignition tampered with, suggesting it may have been stolen and abandoned.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived at the scene and pronounced Franco deceased at 11:06 p.m., as confirmed by Larsen.
