Donald Hampton Death – The man who perished in a collision at the junction of Algonquin and Harvest Gate roads in Lake in the Hills has been named by McHenry County Coroner officials.
Donald Hampton, 67, is awaiting toxicology results and a determination of the cause of death.
Deputy McHenry County Coroner Olivia Zednick mentioned that Hampton’s place of residence is still unknown, and the investigation is ongoing. The incident occurred when Hampton, driving a 2024 black Kia Forte, crashed into a white BMW X5 at approximately 6:20 a.m. on Thursday, May 30.
Paramedics from the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District responded to the scene, providing medical assistance to both drivers before they were taken to Huntley Northwestern Hospital.
Authorities confirmed that there were no passengers in either vehicle, and the collision is still being investigated.
