7-year-old Zion Gibbs killed in Fayetteville home shooting

The Fayetteville Police Department is actively investigating this case.

Seven-year-old Zion Gibbs, a student at Benjamin Martin Elementary School, has passed away at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital on June 10, 2024.

Zion was critically injured in a shooting that occurred on the 800 block of Danish Drive early Friday morning, June 7th.

The Fayetteville Police Department is actively investigating this case.

Fayetteville, NC – A juvenile was shot and critically injured in a Fayetteville home early Friday morning.

Fayetteville Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 800 block of Danish Drive around 12:10 am on June 7, 2024.

Their investigation determined that multiple shots were fired into the residence, striking a young person inside.

The victim was rushed to a local medical center in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.

Leslie Vicente Vicente Obituary, Death; – A deceased woman, identified as 19-year-old Leslie Vicente Vicente, was discovered on Wednesday evening outside Fort Lupton. The Greeley Police Department stated that the body and vehicle were found in a body of water near U.S. 85 and Weld County Road 22, approximately 5 miles north of Fort Lupton. A nearby gravel quarry employee alerted authorities after noticing signs of a submerged vehicle. The news release does not mention any suspicions of foul play or specify the exact body of water where the vehicle was located. Both Greeley and Fort Lupton police, along with dive team members from the Greeley Fire Department and the Fort Lupton Fire Protection District, responded to the scene. The dive team successfully recovered the woman’s body, who was the sole occupant of the submerged vehicle. The Weld County coroner identified the woman as Vicente Vicente and informed her next of kin. Vicente Vicente had traveled to Greeley on June 13 for a religious event at Island Grove Regional Park and was last seen at a gas station on 42nd Street in Evans. The Fort Lupton Police Department is currently investigating her death and encourages anyone with information to contact them at 303-857-4011.
