Nicholas Mikesell Death: Man identified in deadly Fresno crash; CHP reports speeding prior to collision

Nicholas Mikesell Death

The coroner has identified Nicholas Mikesell, a 63-year-old man from Fresno, as the victim of a fatal crash in Fresno County.

The incident occurred at 11:40 a.m. on Thursday at the intersection of West Shaw and Chateau Fresno.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Mikesell was driving eastbound on Shaw Avenue at a high rate of speed when his silver vehicle struck Oleander trees near Chateau Fresno, causing the vehicle to roll over into an orchard.

Mikesell was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The authorities have not determined yet whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
