Jose Manuel Rodriguez Death
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the driver who was ejected and killed in a tragic accident on Friday. Jose Manuel Rodriguez, 34, of Coachella, was the sole occupant of a Ford Expedition that veered off the roadway and rolled over multiple times.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres, Rodriguez made an unsafe turning motion while driving eastbound on Interstate 10 just west of Cook Street around 10:30 a.m. He was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle during the incident.
It remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, and no other vehicles were involved
