In a situation that is not unusual, Sean Richmond was tasked with the difficult job of coaching his team while also acting as the athletic director. Most, however, choose to concentrate on the administrative side of things and remain on the sidelines. It is not him.
In addition, Richmond had a foot in both worlds, helping the community both on and off the mat, much like Will Poole, who was the assistant athletic director at Pocono Mountain West and also served as the assistant wrestling coach.
After being slammed by a tractor trailer on Interstate 380 on Saturday, Richmond, who was the athletic director and wrestling coach for the Stroudsburg school district, passed on the following day. The most recent person to be hired by Richmond was Tarik E-Bassiouni.
After taking some time off to focus on his family, El-Bassiouni worked as an assistant on the coaching staff of Shawn Thornton, who had previously been the coach at Stroudsburg. Richmond had a conversation with El-Bassiouni about the possibility of guiding the second-year coach’s alma mater after some time had gone and numerous prior attempts had been unsuccessful.
Sean Richmond GoFundMe
A GoFundMe page was created by Courtney Millen in order to support the family of Sean Richmond with funeral costs and any extra expenses that may arise at this time. His infectious grin and kind demeanour gave happiness to everyone he met. Many of you have probably already heard the heartbreaking news of Sean’s accident that resulted in his death.
It is time to unite behind Krista and the children in the same manner that Sean has rallied around each of us in the past. Krista and the girls were the brightest spot in his life. During this terrible moment, let us provide them with some of the financial assistance that they might require. Allow us to be the community that they can rely on at this very moment.
