Maritza Martinez Death
A fatal collision in Santa Clarita, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to four others, is believed to have been caused by excessive speed, as stated by authorities on Sunday.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Sand Canyon Road and Sierra Highway around 11:25 p.m. on Saturday. It involved a black truck and a white SUV, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the black truck was traveling at a high speed leading up to the collision.
The deceased victim has been identified as Maritza Martinez, a 30-year-old woman, confirmed by the Medical Examiner’s office. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency medical services were promptly dispatched to the location at 11:18 p.m., and four individuals were swiftly transported to nearby hospitals, as reported by a dispatcher from the Los Angeles County Fire Department
